Is it just me, or did this year FLY by?! I’m not totally sure where 2017 went, but just like most of you, I do loveeee the holidays! It’s just hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that they’re here!!
I typically don’t start my holiday shopping until after Thanksgiving, but I usually start looking for Christmas pajamas. One of my favorite traditions that I do with my family is get a matching pajama set with my mom and Devin.
A lot of the time, the popular sets sell out really fast so the key is to start looking for them early! Below, I linked a few of my favorites. They’re all under $100! (I have my eye on the striped J.Crew set for this year..)
Happy Friday! I’m super excited to share this post with you today because combat boots have been one of my absolute favorite trends this season. It’s such a fun trend, because they are so versatile and can be styled in a ton of different ways.
Last month, Emily and I were shopping in Lincoln Park and we went into Lori’s Shoes. (If you live in Chicago, I highly recommend going into their store on Armitage – they have all the great designers the department stores carry, but they have unique styles!!) I found this pair of maroon combat boots, and I truthfully haven’t been able to take them off.
So far, I’ve styled the boots with jeans and a graphic, t-shirt, but I’ve also worn them with long dresses and skirts. In this post, I’ve styled the boots with this long, ruffled dress and fringe jacket – I thought they brought a fun, edgy look to my outfit.
What do you think of this trend? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Hey guys! Hope you’re having a great week:)
The temps have really dropped here in Chicago, making it officially sweater season! I’ve been on the hunt for some fun sweaters. With the upcoming move and the holidays quickly approaching, I’ve been trying to spend less (especially on clothes). I rounded up a few sweaters that I’m currently loving, for under $100! Items linked below:)
Hi loves! I hope everyone’s week is off to a good start.
After a busy weekend, I’m looking forward to having a productive week. Monday’s are always a good day to reset and refocus.. don’t you think?!
I’ve been really excited to share this look with you guys because these jeans are everything. Seriously, EVERYTHING! I found them at the cutest boutique in Highland Park (more to come in Friday’s post), but they are legit the comfiest pair I own. Em and I always have a hard time finding denim that we love, but I found this pair for under $100. Emily went out and bought the same pair..
I paired the jeans with this fun, bell-sleeved top from Target. This Fall, it’s all about the unique detailing – with embroidery, lace, or ruffles. This top comes in black and grey, and I loved it so much, I bought both colors. I know I’ll get SO much use out of them all fall and winter.
Thanks for reading! Hope you all have a great week!

TGIF, guys!! I am really looking forward to the weekend. Em and I are going to a housewarming party Saturday night and a family BBQ on Sunday. The rest of the weekend, I am planning to totally relax and get some reading in.
As most of you know, I’m a huge reader and typically finish at least one book per week. This summer, I really wanted to start a list of all the books I’ve read, but it’s hard to remember writing down the title after I finish.. That may sound silly, but for some reason it’s something I can never remember to do. That being said, I figured I’d share my reading list with all of you. That way, I can always look back at what I read, which will help when trying to give friends book recommendations.
If you are looking for a good recommendation or are ever interested in borrowing a book, I’m the girl for you! (Note, I always read fiction andddd more often than not, they are mysteries!) Maybe some day I’ll expand my horizons, but it is a guilty pleasure.

Happy 2017! This past year had a lot of ups, a few downs, but I’m READY for 2017! I always love the feeling of the new year – it’s a great time to de-clutter, set new goals, and start fresh! After organizing my closet over the NYE weekend, here are 10 staple pieces I’m looking to add to my wardrobe in 2017..
- J.Crew Cami: I absolutely LOVE this cami. I’d love to buy it in the white and navy. I bought the black last fall and it is easily one of the most worn items in my closet!!
- Cashmere Scarf (sale!!): I have a TON of plaid scarves in my closet, but I’m looking to add a few classic, neutral scarves. I love this scarf in the grey and cream colors – they’d look great layered over a sweater or long sleeve blouse.
- J.Crew Sperry Boot: It’s about time to buy a pair of winter snow boots!! I’ve been in Chicago now for 4.5 years and I only have a pair of Hunter’s. These Sperry snow boots are definitely a must this year!
- Outdoor Voices Crop: One of my New Year’s resolutions is to incorporate different workouts into my routine. I’ve been doing barre for the last year, but I really want to mix it up with some cycling, yoga, running, etc. This top would be perfect for yoga or cycling classes.
5. Printed Dress: In March, I’m headed to Thailand and I’m looking for some fun, printed dresses to wear. I love the brand, Tularosa – they make fun dresses and rompers for spring.
Happy New Year! Thanks for reading, xo!
Wow!! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week already?? Time is seriously flying by. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting excited about the holiday season. With lots to look forward to, I’ve been on the hunt for some cute holiday outfits. Since velvet is SO in right now, I’ve been eyeing a few velvet pieces to add to my collection and to wear during the holidays. I’ve also found quite a few sequined pieces because.. WHY NOT??
I rounded up a few of my favorites (under $100) below, take a look!
How fun is this blue velvet jumpsuit?
I am dying over this pink sequin body-con mini dress! Perfect for New Year’s Eve!
AH! I absolutely love this velvet romper – so fun for a date night or holiday party with friends!!
This embellished mini-skirt is so much fun! I would love to wear it with OTK boots!
This off-the-shoulder dress is adorable; especially in Pine!
Talk about the perfect holiday dress! Loving this dress and all the colors it comes in!
How pretty is this shimmer wrap dress?
Hope you all love my picks!
It’s Election Day!! (Can you believe that??) This election has been a little crazy, so we’re distracting ourselves with a trend we’re currently loving: velvet! If you read last week’s style post, you know that we absolutely LOVE velvet for the fall/winter seasons. Growing up, our mom wore velvet and we loved it – but it always felt so fancy and formal. We love how now, the trend is coming back into fashion, and is being used for a lot of casual pieces, like heeled sandals, bomber jackets, and slip dresses.

Happy Monday, readers! I hope you are having a great start to the week.
We’re really excited that it is officially hat season! We both love to rock a hat every now and then; especially when we’re having a bad hair day, or when we’ve run out of our dry shampoo. Since we’re both on the hunt for a new affordable hat for fall, I linked 10 below:

It’s officially fall and the weather is definitely changing here in Chicago. It’s about time to take out our sweaters and say goodbye to those summer dresses. Fall shopping is by far my favorite. There are so many cozy sweaters that I’ve been eying.
I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites and linked them below:
mock neck pullover (Only $35 and available in 5 colors – score!) | open back turtleneck (so chic!) | open front cardigan / crop sweater (it’s off-the-shoulder; need I say more!) | striped sweater (this one looks SO cozy!) / fringe pullover
p.s.- Nordstrom has a “sweaters under $100” search bar on their site.
