It’s moving time! This week, we’ve been busy each night getting ready for our move tomorrow. We’re not moving far- just about 1-mile north of where we’re currently at, but it’s a bittersweet move for us. We are SO excited for MORE space, but this was our first “home” together. We moved in together exactly 2 years ago, and this apartment has been many “firsts” for us. We moved in while we were dating, and since then, got engaged and now, we’re married!
We thought it’d be special to get photos taken of us and our apartment before we moved out. Our favorite feature of the apartment, was the rooftop. As you can see here, it has breathtaking views of the city, all of the skyscrapers, and Lake Michigan.
We currently live in the Gold Coast area and love so much about it! This area is going to be hard to beat for us – it has so many great restaurants, beautiful tree-lined streets, and a very short walk to the lake and Michigan Avenue. (One of the best parts for me, is it’s only a 15 minute walk to work!) Although the Gold Coast has so many great elements, we are excited to explore our new area: Old Town!
We’ll be busy moving all weekend, but I can’t wait to show you pictures of our new place. Thanks for reading!
As you’ve most likely noticed, it’s been over a month since our last blog post. We both have been very busy these last few months – Devin was out in New Jersey opening up a pop up store for Brideside, and I was busy wedding planning and working at my 9-5′.
Initially, we started blogging as a hobby after college. We were uninspired at our desk jobs and both were looking for a creative outlet. It was the perfect time in our lives because we lived and worked together – so we were always together. Although it is a hobby and something we truly enjoy doing, oftentimes it gets overwhelming – there is an expectation to have unique, creative and consistent content.
In January, we both decided that we were feeling uninspired and needed to hit PAUSE. We needed some time for ourselves and we felt pulled in a few different directions. We didn’t want to only put 50% of ourselves into the blog and we thought it would be better to just take a short break.
Butttt, we’re back and we’re feeling inspired!
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be posting more consistently and we are planning fun, new looks for Spring.
As always, thank you for reading!

Hello, readers! Happy Monday!
Last week, with the start of 2017, I was thinking about my accomplishments over the last year. I started to think about all of the books I read, and regretfully, I didn’t keep a log of all of them. I really wish I had!
As an avid reader, I sometimes finish a book in 2-3 days. That being said, the list of books I read in 2016 is LONG, but I wanted to share some of my favorites with you..
- The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena
- Don’t You Cry by Mary Kubica
- The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
- Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson
- The Liar by Nora Roberts
- Girl On the Train by Paula Hawkins
- What She Knew by Gilly Macmillan
- Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter
- The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney
- The Rocks by Peter Nichols
- The Cinderella Murder by Mary Higgins Clark
- All Is Not Forgotten by Wendy Walker
- Power Play by Danielle Steel
- The Widow by Fiona Barton
- Why Men Love Bitches by Sherry Argov
- What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarity
- Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll
- Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
- Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica
- Dear Daughter by Elizabeth Little
If you are a big reader, or are looking to pick up reading in this new year, I’d definitely recommend any of the books listed.
Hope you enjoy!
Happy Friday! Lately, I’ve been dreaming of updating my bedroom decor. When Kurt and I moved in together last Fall, we had an eclectic mix of furniture; we decided, that with everything we had to buy, our bedroom would have to hold off. We bought a beige, tufted headboard – and that was about it. Our room is very basic, and we’ve yet to add a personal touch – there aren’t any photos, or artwork on the wall.
Now, that we are approaching one year in the ‘new’ place, I’ve been antsy to get our bedroom together. I’ve been on Pinterest trying to figure out the style I want. Lately, I’ve been drawn to lots of white, beige, and a blue-grey color.
Here are a few photos of bedroom inspiration, and a few pieces of furniture I’m eyeing:
